Beyond ‘don’t want to teach, don’t want to learn’
 
Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Nuffield Foundation, the experimental Q-Step programme aims to develop a new approach to the teaching and learning of quantitative skills in social science undergraduate degree programmes across a network of UK universities. Q-Step complements the British Academy's established interests in the development of quantitative skills 'across all phases of education and employment' (BA, 'Count us in', 2015).
 
Now in its fifth of six years, we would like to share some of the experiences of the 15 Q-Step Centres and three Affiliate institutions, looking at successes, challenges and thinking of what comes next.
 
This symposium is aimed at academics teaching quantitative skills to undergraduates and postgraduates within and outwith the Q-Step network. It will also be of interest to colleagues in disciplines beyond the social sciences.
 
Tickets are free and we will operate a waiting list if the event is over-subscribed.
 
The symposium will be followed by a drinks reception and an opportunity to network.
