On 12 December 2018 techUK and partners will bring together academics, philosophers, lawyers, technology experts, policy makers and other key stakeholders at techUK second annual Digital Ethics Summit #AIEthics

See the confirmed summit speakers!

The aim of this year’s Summit is to assess the progress made over the last twelve months to build the capacity and capabilities needed to recognise, identify and address digital ethical issues and concerns. It will consider whether the practical action that has been taken is enough and discuss what more may be needed. It will assess whether the current public engagement on ethical issues is being successful and ask whether additional ethical foresight and action may be needed to identify the public’s real ethical concerns. The Summit will also showcase the progress being made by industry to develop simple tools and solutions businesses need to embed ethical decision making within organisations.

The Summit will again be organised by techUK in partnership with the Royal Statistical Society, Wellcome Trust, Royal Society, British Academy, University of Oxford Data Ethics Lab, Open Data Institute, The Alan Turing Institute and the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence and The Nuffield Foundation’s Ada Lovelace Institute.

Through keynote presentations and panel discussions the Summit aims to bring together a number of current conversations and highlight multi-stakeholder efforts happening in the UK, Europe and globally. It will consider how and where partners could work more together and how techUK could play a role in coordinating activities that could be scaled up.
