Thursday 12 October 2017, 06:00pm - 08:00pm

Location Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol Street, London EC1Y 8LX

For anyone interested in the science and the stories behind the headlines, please join us for a series of talks and discussion on emerging global infectious diseases from three different perspectives. With a focus on recent global outbreaks such as Ebola and Zika virus, we will explore issues of preparedness, detection and response.

How can statistical methods make best use of the wealth of surveillance system data? How can resource allocation priorities be assessed? And how do these efforts impact the affected communities on the ground?

The speakers will be:

Dr Pierre Nouvellet (Imperial College London)
Dr Cathy Roth (Department for International Development (DfID))
Tulip Mazumdar (BBC, Global Health Correspondent)

Attendance is free and open to all, whether fellows of the RSS or not. Pre-registration is however required. You can register at the following link.
