SPEAKERS
Professor Christl Donnelly is Professor of Applied Statistics at the Department of Statistics, University of Oxford and Professor of Statistical Epidemiology, Imperial College London. She is also the chair of the Oxford local branch of the RSS. Her research interests include infectious disease epidemiology and control, real-time outbreak analysis and response, disease transmission dynamics, and the science-policy interface. (Slides available here)

Dr Robin Thompson is an Affilitate Researcher at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford and a Junior Research Fellow in mathematical epidemiology at Christ Church, University of Oxford. His research involves building and analysing mathematical models to inform strategies for controlling infectious diseases in humans, animals and plants. This involves using stochastic and deterministic modelling approaches, and parameterising the models using statistical parameter inference techniques. He is also interested in the impact of pathogen evolution on the dynamics of infectious disease outbreaks.

Speaker biographies are taken from the linked personal and institutional websites.
