From Thursday 19 March 2015 -  09:00am
To Friday 20 March 2015 - 04:00pm

Location Hinsley Hall, Leeds

Following our successful meetings in 2010 and 2012, this two-day conference will bring together researchers from epidemiology, statistics, and the social sciences to exchange ideas on how to analyse longitudinal lifecourse data to identify the critical phases related to social, psychological and physiological wellbeing in later life.

The conference will be preceded on 18th March by a half day workshop led by Graciela Muniz Terrera (MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL,UK) on ”Multivariate longitudinal methods: overview and applications”.

Invited speakers include:
Tim Croudace (University of York, UK) - Recurrent psychometrics: recurring issues and repeated measurements in psychometric epidemiology and applied health research
Sarah Crozier (MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, UK) - A comparison of statistical methods to characterise growth in the Southampton Women's Survey
Richard Emsley (University of Manchester, UK)
Mark S. Gilthorpe (University of Leeds, UK) - Covariate selection, adjustment and interpretation for lifecourse regression models
Rebecca Hardy (MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL, UK) - Lifecourse epidemiology: from theory to application
Graham R. Law (University of Leeds, UK) - Where will all our data come from? Visiting 'big data' to 'wide data'
Gina S. Lovasi (Columbia University, USA) - Five ways to bring a longitudinal perspective to research on urban neighborhoods and health
Johannes Textor (Utrecht University, Netherlands) - Discovering causal effects based on pairwise relationships
Kate Tilling (University of Bristol, UK) - Covariate effects in multilevel models - conditional or unconditional?
