The Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) has an outstanding national and international reputation for clinical audit and clinical and health services research. Currently, all NHS adult intensive care units in England, Wales and Northern Ireland submit their outcome data to ICNARC for comparative analysis. In addition, we conduct a broad portfolio of high profile national and international research studies in our registered clinical trials unit.
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our Data and Business Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented individual to carry out high quality data analytics in a stimulating and collaborative group.
As a member of the Data and Business Technology team, you'll possess strong analytical skills so that you are able to bring structure to complex problems, extract the key issues and present data in a clear and concise format. You'll also need good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise day-to-day tasks, meet urgent deadlines and work with a variety of staff and teams.
To succeed in this role you will have a:
- Relevant experience in analysing, presenting and disseminating data to a variety of audiences
- Sound knowledge of statistical methodology, and ideally of health statistics
- Knowledge and Experience of Microsoft SQL queries
- Competency in standard statistical software packages, such as STATA, Python or R
- Keenness to develop specialist skills and knowledge and share that with colleagues, acting as a close support for statisticians, data managers and health services research specialists
