The Open University is looking for a highly motivated, organised individual with first class analytical and problem-solving skills who will lead the University’s team responsible for key institutional reporting on students and staff to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the four UK nation funding agencies. This is an exciting time to be involved in reporting given the changing landscape. You will take a lead role in helping to shape the development of new internal systems and our response to new external reporting requirements.
You will have an influential role in negotiating with HESA and the funding agencies on matters relating to the collection, specification and use of data from returns, to ensure that the University’s published data reflects the University’s true position. You will advise staff across the University on the impact of statutory reporting on data collection systems and processing, data quality and policies.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to assimilate and interpret complex external information requirements in the context of the business of the Open University. You will have a proven track record of managing staff to deliver high quality work to demanding deadlines. You will have excellent interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills and will have a first degree or equivalent, evidence of a qualification demonstrating significant mathematical ability and ideally a management qualification.
