We currently have a vacancy for a Statistician at our head office in Buttershaw Bradford. You will provide statistical support to the business through the application of wide ranging statistical, modelling and analytical techniques. This role involves liaising with multidiscipline teams within the current AMP and support periodic review activity. An ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate using statistical techniques within a commercial environment.

Salary is £32,138 - £40,170, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, flexible working conditions (we have offices in Bradford, Leeds city centre and offer remote working), pension, quarterly bonus, subsidised gym & restaurant, free parking.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Working within a multidisciplinary team of technical experts, established to understand the benefits and opportunities presented by a range of investment scenarios and the value these scenarios would return to investors, as well as the service benefits to customers and environmental improvements that would be delivered. The ability to evaluate problem solving tools and techniques for application to business issues and opportunities to ensure successful and auditable evidence trails for decision making.
  • The ability to communicate complex analysis into simple, meaningful and understandable formats to a variety of audiences.
  • Provide supporting evidence and arguments for our influencing strategies to ensure successful future regulatory support for the approval of particular investment opportunities.
  • Accountable for the development of statistical modelling methodologies to appraise the value of potential future investment scenarios, as well as the integration of appropriate methodologies into systems. 
  • Integration of statistical models with other techniques and methodologies employed by other specialists in the team, such as economical analysis, investment planning, whole life cost modelling and willingness to pay analysis. Continuously look for ways the business can improve statistical analysis and how this could be introduced.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Ideally a degree with a significant statistical component.
  • Knowledge and practical application of a range of statistical and analytical techniques within a commercial environment.
  • Flexible approach with regards to both team working and working under own initiative.
  • An ability to communicate and engage people at all levels and adapt approach to suit audience.
  • Able to challenge in a constructive manner, give, receive and act on feedback.
  • Able to manage conflicting priorities and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of statistical packages R and SPSS as well as MS Office
