ONS launches crime statistics user survey

Written by Web News Editor on . Posted in Latest call-outs to members

In January 2014, concerns about the quality of the data led to the removal of the National Statistics status from police recorded crime.

In light of the recent publication from Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), Crime Recording: Making the victim count (PDF), which presents findings from their inspections of police forces, ONS would like to understand how this will affect users of the statistics.

Any users of statistics based on police recorded crime data are invited to respond to the survey which can be accessed here. The survey will be open until close of play on Friday 19 December 2014.

Any queries about the survey or the removal of the National Statistics status from statistics based on police recorded crime should be directed to the ONS Crime Statistics team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
