Following a record-breaking RSS 2017 Conference in Glasgow last month, attention is now turning to planning for the 2018 Conference which will take place in Cardiff from 3-6 September.

The RSS International Conference has established itself as a unique opportunity for anyone interested in statistics and data science to share information and network - this year over 600 people from 35 countries and a variety of sectors took part.

The RSS Conference Board is currently seeking proposals for invited sessions and workshops on any topic relating to statistics and data science.

The 2018 conference will, once again, be organised by ‘streams’ allowing in-depth focus on specialised topics as well as broader presentations on new developments and thinking in statistics:

  • Applications of statistics
  • Communicating and teaching statistics
  • Data science
  • Environmental statistics
  • Industry and Finance
  • Medical statistics
  • Methods and Theory
  • Official statistics and public policy
  • Professional Development
  • Social statistics

Guidelines for session organisers and a submission form can be found on the conference webpage.

The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday 24 November.
