The RSS 2017 International Conference - our annual gathering packed with experts in all aspects of statistics including data science, medical statistics, official statistics, theory and method - is now open for registrations.
The conference - taking place this year at the Technology & Innovation Centre at Strathclyde University in Glasgow - is the only one in the UK where anyone interested in data analysis and statistics can come together to share information and network.
It attracts around 500 participants from around the world, ranging from senior academic statisticians and professional statisticians to new graduates and postgraduates, with strong representation from the public sector as well as statisticians and data scientists working in industry or as independent consultants. There is also a growing group of people who have an interest in statistics or who use statistics, but don’t work in the field.
The three-day conference ticket also includes entry to a welcome reception the evening before conference starts, an awards and poster reception during the conference and the conference dinner and ceilidh on the final night of the conference.
The Society's Honorary Officer for Conference Dr Kim Kavanagh says, 'I am delighted that the RSS Conference is returning to Scotland and to Glasgow. We’re aiming to make it the most successful conference yet. This year we are introducing rapid fire presentations to the conference, which are a perfect opportunity to give a short five minute taster of your work to a wide audience.'
If you're considering submitting a talk or poster for Conference, remember that the deadline for talk submissions closes on 31 March.
