Members have been sent an email asking them to cast their vote for next year's Council.
There are vacancies on Council for seven Ordinary members, for which nine Fellows have been nominated. In accordance with the Society's regulations, a ballot is necessary to determine which of the nominees are to be elected. Details of the nine nominees were published on StatsLife back in April.
Following the success of previous year's online ballot, the Society will be using the same system provided by the Electoral Reform Society (ERS). As before, the election will be by Single Transferable Vote and continue with the Meek System that the Society has used since the 1980s.
How it works
Voters are sent a secure login with a link to a dedicated voting site. Once verified and logged on, voters are taken to the relevant voting screens to cast their votes quickly and easily. Candidate statements will also be accessible from the site. Telephone and email support is provided for all voters for the duration of the election via the ERS’s customer services team.
Members were sent their ballot 29 August 2016 and the election will close on 14 October 2016.
