This year, the Government Statistical Service (GSS) Conference will run on 8 and 9 September and crosses over with the Royal Statistical Society's conference, which runs from 5-8 September at the same venue (University of Manchester).
This means that if any GSS members book for the full RSS Conference, they will be able to attend the GSS Conference on Friday 9 September at a special rate.
The GSS Conference reflects the outward facing aims of the organisation: exploring how working across organisations and disciplines unlock the potential of emerging technologies, analytical techniques and data sources. This year features a distinguished line up of speakers including economist and journalist Tim Harford, Jeni Tennison of the Open Data Institute, National Statistician John Pullinger, ONS director general Heather Savory and a video address from the Cabinet Office minister Matt Hancock.
The parallel sessions will also have a blend of presenters from inside and outside of government, including YouGov, Opta Sports, the Financial Times, and the Turing Institute for Data Science.
Delegates to both the RSS and GSS conferences will also be able to come together at the Conference dinner on Thursday 8 September.
GSS members can find more details on the GSS Conference by logging into the GSS website here.
