RSS Council, the trustees of the Society, met for the first time in 2015 on Wednesday 25 March.
Council considered the membership recruitment strategy and a report on membership trends. The examinations provision of the Society was discussed and the outcome is detailed in this announcement published on StatsLife.
The Mardia Prize was approved and this will fund grants for groups which wish to run interdisciplinary workshops. The initiative will be launched later this year and further details have now been announced.
Council received a briefing on the Nurse Review of Research Councils, and discussed RSS positioning in relation to the Review’s questions.
Council also received the first report of the Society’s International Development Working Group.
