Barnett Award nominations open as deadline for all honours extends

The Society's newest honour, the Barnett award for environmental statisticians, is now open for nominations until 3 November 2014.

The award, named after the late Vic Barnett (pictured), seeks to encourage and promote the recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of environmental statistics. Submissions for the award will be supported by published papers and/or scientific reports for which publication in whole or in part is not restricted.

More information on the Barnett Award was published in StatsLife late last year (details here).

The deadline for nominations for all of the 2015 honours has now been extended until 3 November. The awards being made in 2015 are as follows:


  • Guy medal in silver
  • Guy medal in bronze
  • Bradford Hill medal
  • Howard medal
  • Wood medal
  • West Medal
  • Barnett award
  • Research Prize
  • Honorary fellowship
