Congratulations to Alison Etheridge, professor of probability at the University of Oxford and current president of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, who has been confirmed as one of the 12 new council members of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

Alison has worked at the Universities of Cambridge, Berkeley, Edinburgh and Queen Mary University London before returning to Oxford. She has worked with EPSRC both through its Mathematical Sciences Strategic Advisory Team and Strategic Advisory Network.

All 12 members will take up their posts following the establishment of UK Research Innovation (UKRI) on 01 April 2018, the new organisation bringing together the seven research councils, Innovate UK and Research England.

The other board members are listed on the EPSRC website.
