Presentation: Statistics for journalists

To deliver your own course in statistics for journalists, whether to colleagues in a media organisation or to students on a journalism course, you are welcome to use the resources we have created for the project.

For your own personal development as a journalist, you can also work through these presentation slides and notes as an alternative or extension to our online course in Statistics for Journalists.

The presentation is designed for flexible delivery, and can be used to prepare for a presentation from under an hour to a whole day when used with the exercises. An example of its use is available in this video of the Science for Journalists workshop, filmed at Science and statistics for journalists course organised with the NCTJ on 13 November 2014.

This forms part of the RSS Science Journalism Training Programme, and was created with funding from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.
